- You will get an appointment for a test donation. Your ejaculate will be examined, that means a spermiogram is performed. The sperms are also examined whether they survive the process of freezing and thawing without substantial loss of quality. Our experience has shown that this is only the case when number and motility of sperm are relatively high. If your sperm do not meet these criteria this doesn’t mean that your fertility is reduced, it only means, that your ejaculate is not suitable for freezing and thawing.
- After we have the result of this examination we give you the information, whether you meet the criteria or not. If so, we invite you for a blood test to exclude any infection and we will take a detailed medical history of you.
- If you are an adequate donor you may undersign the contract with our institute which regulates your legal status as donor, the health checks and the fringe benefits. Fringe benefit is 100 Euro per donation.
In Austria the sperm donation is regulated in the reproduction-medicine-law „Fortpflanzungsmedizingesetz”.
